Also wondering how often they need to be cut, if i want it to be kept short ?
No they do NOT have that typical doggy odour… the only time mine smells is when she's rolled in fox scent! You have to put a lot of time into combing them…. it depends on your dog how often you'd need to have the coat cut. They ARE prone to tooth decay so I would suggest you get into the habit and routine of daily tooth brushing early on. Hope you enjoy your pup, they are so loving and adorable!
Seems to me that people have replied here when they haven't GOT Bichons and don't KNOW anything about them! They do not smell, so all the people saying all dogs smell are wrong. People are replying for the sake of it when they have no idea what they are saying….
Bichons are difficult to house train and train, I have been told that by different people and my vet. BUT breed isn't an excuse to let the dog misbehave. Start training EARLY and get into a good routine. Lots of reward and patience!
